Week 18 Real Rankings

Pretty epic week in a few respects - 12 trades in 14 days is pretty awesome. I really enjoy the open trading period. It is always interesting and you can gradually see top teams get more nervous as their chief competition gets better, then the trades start to escalate in scale and cost. There were some pretty crazy prices out there and that's just judging from the conversations I had. It was likely made all the more compelling by the eased restrictions. All told, three first rounders were traded which is the first time I can remember that happening. Not surprising, it was the three big buyers in Jason, Kyle, and me who spent it mostly on frontline pitching with Price, MadBum, and Hamels leading the headlines. Lots of teams greatly improved their draft status for next year while other teams like the Chris twins decided to sit tight with what they got. Anyway, kudos to everyone involved as it continues to be a great tradition of excitement.

Adding to the epicness was three teams posting shutouts, including the two teams vying for the top spot currently, along with the Munchkins. The sad thing for Jason is he lost ground even though he went 8-2 and was tops in the real rankings.  On the other end, Kyle got pretty lucky pitching a shutout with a 5.9.

I will be keeping a close watch on rosters going forward. I don't care if you're out of it, you must update your lineups. If it becomes an ongoing problem, there will be fines or worse. I take this seriously as a lot of people invest a lot of energy into this game and the integrity of the standings lies in your willingness to take a moment out of your daily dump to hit the "swap inactive players" button.

And I've got more payment but still plenty of people that owe. Please don't make me chase after you after the season ends. Thanks Check here. http://baseball.fantasysports.yahoo.com/b1/3479/finances
