New Owner Survey: Jed Davidson

1.  Why do you want to join High & Tight?

As you know Jason Ouellette recommended this league to me and he speaks very highly of the competitiveness and activity level of this league.  I am a self-proclaimed fantasy baseball nerd and love playing in different leagues with different formats.  Jason shared a link to the blog which illustrated my earlier points of it being a competitive and active league. I like that this league does not allow managers to be inactive as that drags down the quality of a league.  Also, looking at the team I could possibly inherit, the pitching is absolutely stacked.  Plus, I’ve been hearing Jason talk so much shit about how much better his league is than mine and how good he is, I thought I would see for myself if he’s full of shit.

2.  Please share any information as it relates to your qualifications. This may include leagues you are in or have been in, championships, noteworthy acquisitions/strategies, offseason activities, etc. – related to baseball only.

I’ve been playing in a yahoo standard keeper league for the last ten years.  Two years ago we added a rule that we could trade draft picks and my team was just outside of the playoffs, so I carefully traded away some pieces for additional draft picks.  Our league slots the #7 finishing team as the first draft pick, which is where I finished.  I had the #1 pick and several picks in the early rounds.  This year, I finished the regular season in first and lost in the championship.

3.  Describe your management style (active vs. passive, aggressive trader, analytical, specific methodologies, etc.)

I am very active.  Watching the waiver, reading blogs, watching baseball, and on my phone constantly.  I like to be an aggressive trader and if something isn’t working I’m not afraid to make a bold trade.  My team name a couple of times has been “Trader Jed”, a takeoff obviously on Trader Danny Ainge!  I subscribe to a couple of different theories mostly though I go for the sexy power hitters.
