League Vote Ideas

Here's a list of the issues I plan on putting to vote. Let me know if you'd like to add anything.

- Switch from Saves to Save + Holds?
 
- Change the playoff DL exemption so any team can apply for an exemption if a position player or relief pitcher misses three straight games due to injury or if a starter misses one game due to injury -- to be decided by the commissioner . The injured player could not return until the next round. No exemptions have ever been awarded because rosters expand, eliminating the need for teams to place players on the DL, which was the previous requirement. We need to do something here.

- Keep NA slot? Didn't provide much value but didn't hurt either.

- Loosen trade restrictions?  Change restricted rounds from 7-13 to 7-10?


- Add third DL slot? 

It won't go to vote, but we do need to act on the potential problem of teams borrowing players for a playoff run with the agreement that the player(s) would be traded back to the original team in exchange for picks in the offseason or at the beginning of the next season. My solution is to require that any trade involving the same to two teams and the same player from a previous traded executed in the prior calendar year be subject to league vote (two-thirds majority required to veto). This would make it so teams involved in such a trade would not be assured of executing a future trade. Voting teams would have to decide if the compensation for the second trade was suitable. I am open to other ideas, but I'm not OK doing nothing.
