Like an errant bat to the face, the 2009 fantasy baseball season is upon us. Yahoo has now made it available to sign up for the 2009 season, so I will be doing that in the next few days. You should receive an email inviting you to join the league.

I have received everyone's votes and here is the plan:

  • We will be expanding rosters by 1 bench spot this year. This will help make the league deeper, but without compromising parity.
  • We will not be adding another keeper slot this year. We are tossing around the idea of adding an "up and comer" keeper slot for the 2010 season. Essentially, any player who is eligible for rookie of the year, or who did not qualify to be a rookie in the current season would be allowed to be kept in a 7th slot that would be allocated for an "up and comer". Let me know your thought.
  • We have to have another vote on how we will be determining tie-breakers in the playoffs this year. See below.
  • We will not be instituting the "lose your draft pick" in the round your keepers were drafted provision.

Determining tie-breakers in the playoffs:

Would you like to keep it the same (ERA during the week), or would you like head-to-head record in the regular season be the manual tie-breaker that the league will use? Let's here your thoughts.
